Giving Tuesday (the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving) is a global generosity movement when people give to charities they trust. When you choose to give to United Way of Central Ohio, you will be helping people in our community improve their lives. Every gift, big or small, makes a huge difference. Together we can:
Create strong starts for children
Through early education programs like the Columbus Early Learning Center and South Side Early Learning we make certain all kids have access to a high-quality education no matter their ZIP code.
Provide safe homes and warm meals
We’re increasing our support for people experiencing homelessness and hunger in our community, especially as the need has recently increased. For example, your gifts support Homes on the Hill and Lutheran Social Services food pantries, just two of the 60 nonprofit partners we support that are helping to feed and shelter our neighbors.
Build partnerships that improve equity
We’re partnering with organizations like the Economic Mobility Coalition and increasing our support of nonprofits that are led by and primarily serving people of color. We’re also working with our funded partners to create and execute rigorous plans for achieving greater board diversity.
Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar PLUS support front-line workers
Your Giving Tuesday donation makes an even bigger impact because it will be matched dollar for dollar by Grange Insurance up to $10,000. PLUS, United Way of Central Ohio and Fifth Third Bank will randomly select five nonprofits to receive a $500 gift card to spend on their staff every time donations reach $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000. These Appreciation Awards provide an opportunity for donors and United Way to show appreciation for our nonprofit partners who have worked incredibly hard to support our community during the pandemic.
