United Way Joins Opioid Education Alliance

April 15th, 2019

Ohio ranks third in the nation for opioid overdose deaths with more than 5,000 Ohioans dying from overdose in 2017 alone. United Way has stepped up to fight the crisis by becoming a member of the Ohio Opioid Education Alliance. The Alliance is a coalition of more than 40 Ohio businesses and organizations committed to spread a message of prevention and education around the dangers of prescription opioid abuse.

United Way encourages you to assist in prevention efforts by talking to your kids about the dangers of opioid abuse. Educate your friends and family about proper prescription opioid disposal and how to safely secure prescriptions.
