As the Ohio vs. Michigan football rivalry heats up, Buckeye fans are being called to rally behind another competition: United Rivals. From Nov. 18 to Nov. 30, United Way of Central Ohio is challenging fans to donate to fight childhood food insecurity while aiming to beat Michigan in a two-week fundraising competition with United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
Donations made to United Way of Central Ohio through UnitedRivals.org will directly support programs that provide meals to children in central Ohio who are at risk of hunger during out of school time.
Every contribution counts, and fans who donate $50 or more will receive a limited-edition, scarlet and grey LIVE UNITED t-shirt. PLUS: Every $25 you give at UnitedRivals.org from Nov. 18 to midnight, Nov. 24 entitles you to an entry in a drawing for a Beat Michigan Package that includes two tickets to the OSU vs. Michigan game on Nov. 30, a parking pass and an invitation to tailgate before the game with former OSU player Mike Doss and his friends!
“United Rivals is a fun way for Buckeye fans to channel their rivalry with Michigan into something that makes a real impact in our community,” said Lisa Courtice, President and CEO of United Way of Central Ohio. “Together, we can show our Buckeye pride by helping children who face food insecurity.”
How Your Gift Tackles Childhood Hunger
• $25 provides 20 meals for children in after-school programming.
• $50 feeds 10 children over one weekend.
• $75 provides 300 meals for a food pantry.
• $150 provides 35 children with nutritious snacks for one week at an out-of-school learning center.
• $250 feeds a child over the weekend for the entire school year.
