Five Community Leaders Join United Way’s Board of Trustees for 2019

United Way of Central Ohio is pleased to announce the addition of five new Board of Trustees members for 2019. Our board members are dedicated community leaders who guide our organization as we fight poverty and create lasting change in central Ohio.

Tim King leads all of Alliance Data’s Card Services financial and accounting functions. He has been with Alliance Data since 2010 and has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Tim is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), on the board of directors for Comenity Bank, serves as a member of United Way’s Finance Committee and is on the board of the Community Shelter Board.

Azure’D Metoyer is a staff attorney to the Honorable Stephen L. McIntosh in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. For the past four years, Azure’D has been involved with LINC, the young professional affinity group for United Way of Central Ohio and is currently the immediate past-chair for LINC’s steering committee. Azure’D is passionate about public service and working on policy change.

Dr. Talisa Dixon is in her first year as superintendent/CEO of Columbus City Schools after five years leading the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District in suburban
Northeast Ohio. Dr. Dixon previously spent nine years as an administrator in Columbus City Schools, and served six years combined as the principal at Brookhaven High School and at Columbus Alternative High School. During her time in Northeast Ohio, she served on the Cleveland Metro American Heart Association board of directors, the governing board and executive committee for MSAN (Minority Student Achievement Network), and the board of directors for the Positive Education Program (PEP) of Cleveland. Dr. Dixon has been recognized nationally for her work in promoting educational equity.

Derrick Antwi serves as the controller & assistant treasurer at Capital University, where he oversees the University’s financial reporting; accounting and business operations; treasury and endowment; and institutional risk management and compliance. His service includes several committee and board leaderships with the Ohio Association of College and University Business Officers (OACUBO), United Way of Central Ohio and the Church of Pentecost. Derrick is passionate about giving back to his community.

Hope Cotter is the senior director of sales marketing & research for GateHouse Media, one of the largest publishers of locally based media in the United States, including Dispatch Media Group. She leads all aspects of primary and secondary research, and provides analytical and data driven recommendations for sales and marketing projects. In her free time, Hope enjoys hiking, traveling and volunteering.
