What good can a sandwich do?
This week, we’re asking YOU to pack your lunch for 5 days to help feed struggling families in central Ohio. What good could a few sandwiches do, you ask?
On average, Americans spend about $35 eating out for lunch each week. With a $35 gift to United Way of Central Ohio, you can provide 21 meals at a soup kitchen, or 6 days of food for a struggling family, or 7 hot meals delivered to a shut-in.
If brown-bagging it really isn’t your style, go ahead and pick up a salad or sandwich at your local lunch spot, but make your $35 donation to United Way so that others can enjoy a hot meal and a safe place to eat.
Eating alone is no fun, so challenge your coworkers, friends and family to join you in the BrownBag4Good challenge! How quickly will your PB&J make a difference? If just 300 people take up the challenge, we will raise more than $10,000 to fight poverty in Columbus. How’s that for the power of a sandwich?
