United Way’s Stable Families program, powered by our partnership with the YMCA of Central Ohio, is helping families create the foundation their children need to thrive in school and beyond. Part of the nationwide Siemer Institute, Stable Families helps local families avoid homelessness and keeps their children in their schools. In 2024 alone, Stable Families served 1,016 families, including 2,598 children, and we celebrated 491 families completing the program. Of those families:
- 81.2% maintained or secured stable housing
- 65.4% increased their income
- 99.8% of their school-age children avoided a disruptive school move
This effective approach is designed to prevent homelessness and reduce student mobility among low-income families throughout central Ohio.
