Description:
Gladden Community House, founded in 1905, is the settlement house serving the Franklinton and near west side neighborhoods of Columbus providing education programs for children and emergency assistance for families.
Programs and Services:
YOUTH SERVICES - Preschool (3 Star full-day year-round classes for children 3-5); Youth Group Services (small group educational activities); Youth Recreation, Team Sports, and Food Service. Our Recreation program provides daily gym and game room activities for children ages 5-18 plus a Teen Quest Youth Leadership program, Youth Employment and Community Service, and seasonal Teen Parties. Food Service provides 2,000 free, nutritious meals each month to neighborhood children. Gladden’s Team Sports program provides a wide range of year-round activities, including summer tee ball, baseball and softball; winter basketball; cheerleading; spring, fall, and winter indoor soccer (Gladden oversees the city-wide KIDS League serving over 70 teams each year); volleyball; weightlifting; bowling; floor hockey; flag football.
