Job Description:

 

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

 

 

Primary Function: Coordinate/support mentoring programs as well as assume administrative responsibilities in Union County.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

 

¨      Provide case management services to mentoring program participants as determined by mentoring program parameters.  Services may include, but are not limited to orientation, screen volunteers, matching, match supervision, goal planning, and other functions related to school-based mentoring.

 

¨      Serve as liaison between mentoring program participants and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association.

 

¨      Plan and coordinate mentoring activities (routine and special events).

 

¨      Research and obtain materials as needed to facilitate mentoring program operations.

 

¨      Maintain accurate paperwork and database according to National and Agency standards.

 

¨      Provide accurate and timely program statistics..

 

¨      Coordinate and conduct evaluation of mentoring programs.

 

¨      Provide recognition and support for mentors.

 

¨      Identify and report to supervisor any issues that may impact program quality, participation, liability, etc.

 

¨      Attend events as requested.

 

¨      Help in other program areas as part of the team when needed.

 

¨      Assist in program development and strategies for growth.

 

¨      Assist in hiring and training/developing staff and is responsible for supervising and evaluating those employees.

 

¨      Create and implement new mentoring programs.

 

¨      Recruit both children and adults to participate in such programs.

 

¨      Help with identifying, writing and pursuing grants that will enhance current programming and provide opportunities for expanding programs.

 

¨      Assist in identifying programmatic training needs.

 

¨      Serve as the liaison between the U. W. of Union County and the BBBS association. In coordination with agency admin. Staff, develop and write funding requests and other United Way related functions.

 

¨      Develop, Coordinate and implement, in conjunction with BBS administrative staff and the Board of Directors, Union county liaison, an ongoing Advisory and Developmental Council (ADC) for Union Co.

 

¨      Pursue, Plan and Coordinate fund raising efforts in Union County in conjunction with development staff.

 

¨      Assist in assuring compliance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America National Standards.

 

¨     Assist in the coordination of services for our children, their families, and volunteers with the Executive Program Director and program staff.

 

¨     Prepare and maintain Union County budget and financial records.

 

¨     Develop community relationships for the purpose of procuring donors and volunteers.

 

¨     Ensure that all program activities are in accordance with agency vision and values and program policies and procedures through the establishment and utilization of a total quality management process

 

¨     To help achieve the mission of the agency, program staff may have to assume additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the CEO or their designee.

 

 

 

 

Position Requirements

 

 

 

  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Must be willing to work minimum 40-45 hours/week

  • Must be willing to work evening and weekends as required

  • Must be willing to work with diverse populations and in diverse areas

  • Must be flexible to accommodate job responsibilities

  • Must have viable transportation, valid drivers’ license and insurance to meet job responsibilities

  • Must have high level of organization

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
