Position Title: Social Worker
Department: Speech – Autism Diagnostic Clinic
Source of Supervision: Vice President & Director of Speech Services
Classification: Independent Contractor, Part Time
Function: To provide diagnostic services to children ages 12 months to 5 yrs; 11 months with suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder
The Columbus Speech & Hearing Center is seeking an organized, efficient, dedicated, and compassionate social worker to join our Autism Diagnostic Clinic Team. Successful candidates must have excellent communication and team collaboration skills and have experience working with young children on the Autism Spectrum and their families. Applicants must also be knowledgeable regarding resources and funding sources in the Columbus area, possess strong skills in explanation and delivery of diagnostic information and have the ability to make appropriate and necessary recommendations for follow-up services. Must have the ability to problem-solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant and perform duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
- Manage clinical responsibilities which include reviewing client files, reviewing client history with family, administration of appropriate assessments, scoring and interpreting assessments, writing up evaluation results as part of a team report, providing appropriate recommendations and resources to clients and their families, and meeting the high standards of the Center as described in our mission, vision, and core values.
- Facilitate intake assessments and interviews for social service planning.
- Provide families information and referrals to appropriate agencies and other financial and program assistance, as necessary.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the Center’s Autism Diagnostic Clinic (ex. meeting deadlines for documentation, adhering to attendance standards, adhering to the dress code, etc.).
- Work with the Director of Speech Services to determine a work schedule that meets the needs of the Center.
- Attend team meetings to review clients’ evaluation results and collaborate with other Autism Diagnostic Team members on recommendations and diagnosis.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES
Education- BSW or MSW
Field of Study: in Social Work or related field (nursing, counseling, LPC).
Years of Experience: 1 -2 years’ experience as LSW in a pediatric setting preferred.
Hold clinical license from the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage & Family Therapist Board in accordance with ORC 4757.27.– LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPCC, LPCC-S
Must complete and provide proof of fingerprinting and background check at the onset of the professional contract.
Must maintain and provide proof of valid professional liability insurance.
Physical requirements: must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, must be able to sit on the floor to interact with young children for extended periods of time, and must be able to move efficiently and quickly from one position to another.
