Job Description:

Job Purpose:

Oversee the agency-sponsored USDA CACFP Afterschool Nutrition Program application, training and monitoring operations statewide.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      Manage daily field-based operations for the Agency’s Afterschool Nutrition Program for school-aged children in compliance with Ohio Department of Education criteria.

2.      Manage, lead, oversee, and train regional Afterschool Nutrition Program staff including performance management, coaching, development, and delegation.

3.      Coordinate annual statewide sponsor application for afterschool partnerships.

4.      Coordinate annual statewide afterschool site training process. Develop & assign specialized retraining plans as needed to support partner sites with tailored guidance.

5.      Oversee and manage field staff in the completion of afterschool site monitor visits including: managing the schedule, providing guidance on technical assistance, issuance of corrective action and completion of forms.

6.      Review and monitor expenses accrued by program waste. Assist field staff in identifying sites with high waste levels and provide strategic guidance to manage & minimize waste levels incurred.

7.      Manage department audit readiness by upholding operational field procedures. Contribute to the development of department procedures to ensure all program regulations are consistently met.

8.      Work closely with Data, Quality and Compliance team to ensure seamless communication and operation of the Afterschool Nutrition Program service delivery.

9.      Contribute & provide leadership to increase the quality of operational relationships and program effectiveness between vendor, sponsor, state agency and afterschool program partners for seamless service delivery.

10.  Assist with afterschool program outreach & expansion.

11.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications:

A.      Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Community/Public Health, Community Development, Communication Sciences or equivalent

B.      One year of management experience

C.      Knowledge and experience with USDA CACFP

D.     Knowledge and experience with afterschool or summertime programming

E.      Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

F.       Organizational skills and time management skills

G.     Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities; adjust to changing needs

H.     Communication skills: oral, written and presentation skills

I.        Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups

J.        Interpersonal skills, especially relationship building, influencing skills, customer focus, and leading/motivational skills

K.      Ability to work with remote team

L.       Creative problem solving skills
