Five-year-old Jaxon is excited to go to kindergarten, and his parents feel confident he is better prepared to learn and succeed, thanks to Action for Children’s SPARK program.
Your gift to United Way helps support SPARK, a family-focused kindergarten readiness program that prepares 3- and 4-year-olds for kindergarten by building reading, math and social skills. The program is a free, in-home service that connects families with resources and helps parents be their child’s first and best teachers.
Jaxon’s parents were equally involved in the program and took turns participating in his SPARK lessons and activities. Their commitment to Jaxon’s education, and the support and tools provided by the program’s parent partner, provided a solid foundation for him when he starts kindergarten in the fall.
