Kaylah’s life has been filled with barriers. She remembers eviction notices and her mother missing meals so she could eat. When Kaylah became pregnant during senior year of high school, she fought through morning sickness and turmoil at home that led to living in her car for several days. Determined not to let barriers hold her back, Kaylah reached out for help and found Karriejoi, her Care Coordination Network coordinator, who provided endless resources and support, and offered a reliable shoulder to lean on. With Karriejoi’s help, Kaylah graduated with honors, and went from wondering how she would afford diapers to securing a job with benefits and good growth potential. “I’m going forward now, just living a happy, normal life,” she says.
