Champion of Children honors individuals and organizations who are committed to United Way of Central Ohio’s singular goal to fight poverty by helping children and youth succeed.

You can nominate Champions in two categories:
- Nonprofit Organization Champion of Children Award
We encourage you to nominate an organization that embodies the ideals of Champion of Children by helping children and youth succeed, demonstrating outstanding leadership in issues affecting children, understanding emerging and changing community needs and trends and responding with innovation and impact, demonstrated with verifiable results and strong relationships within the community. - Individual Champion of Children Award
We encourage you to nominate individuals who are making a difference in the lives of children in central Ohio; inspire a broad community response; have a deep and far-reaching impact; embody characteristics of leadership, persistence, innovation, and commitment; and envision a better tomorrow for all children. Any person living or working in Franklin County meeting these qualifications may be nominated for the Champion of Children Award. Click here to download the nomination form.
Champions will be unveiled at a Columbus Metropolitan Club Luncheon on July 26, 2017, where we will mention the report launch of the 2017 Champion of Children Report: Strengthening Social Fabric for Our Children. Champion awards will be presented, and the recipients will be honored at the Champion of Children Signature Event later this Fall. The award recipients must be available to attend the Signature Event.
