Lisa Courtice, Ph.D. is the new United Way of Central Ohio president and CEO! Our Board of Trustees made it official today at a special meeting. In case you didn’t know, our United Way is one of the largest in the country with more than 80,000 donors and volunteers.
Dr. Courtice is a Ph.D. psychologist with over twenty-five years of experience working in nonprofit leadership having served for over ten years as the CEO, Co-CEO and clinical director of agencies directly providing services to those living in poverty in Ohio. For the last thirteen years, Lisa has served as Executive Vice President and leader of community research and grants management of The Columbus Foundation, the 7th largest community foundation in the country.
“I have had the pleasure of working with the staff, volunteers, and donors of United Way of Central Ohio for many years and understand how crucial our work of reducing poverty is to the community,” said Dr. Courtice. “I am motivated to lead this dynamic organization and to further develop the network of central Ohioans who will enhance the mission and effectiveness of our United Way.”
Dr. Courtice was selected after a nationwide search that considered more than 180 candidates. Our diverse community was deeply involved in the process. She begins her tenure as our next president and CEO on April 3, 2017. We can’t wait.
