Project Diversity Pride Leadership
Project Diversity Pride Leadership is United Way of Central Ohio’s inclusive nonprofit board development program focused on filling the gap on board diversity. Designed specifically for leaders from central Ohio’s racially diverse and LGBTQ+ communities, the program equips participants with the essential knowledge, skills and experiences to effectively serve on a nonprofit board. At the completion of the program, leaders have the tools to better serve their community, to take back to their workplace and to help them grow in their careers.

Why Board Diversity is Important
In 2019, United Way published a report titled More Like Us that summarized survey results on the state of nonprofit board diversity in central Ohio. The findings indicated that local nonprofit boards are less diverse than Franklin County across various demographics. As our community becomes increasingly diverse, it is critical that our local nonprofit boards reflect this diversity to include many backgrounds, perspectives and approaches.
