Title: IgniteU Program Support Staff
Work Area/Department: Youth and Family Empowerment
Reports to: IgniteU Supervisor
Exempt Status: Non-exempt, full time

IgniteU is a school based program focused on empowering and exciting youth in work readiness. The program support staff’s primary role is to provide educational support and assistance to the IgniteU and SYEP programs. This includes:
- Essential Responsibilities
- Provide education support and assistance to the IgniteU programs. This includes:
Supporting the IgniteU Site Coordinator and Mentors with meal program, program site set up and cleanup, supply management and storage.
Working as a member of the IgniteU team to support with participant recruitment, attendance, serving meals, activity transitions, restroom breaks, playground activities, student behavior, monitoring and supervision, homework help, co-facilitation of career exploration, work readiness, academic and social emotional learning enrichment activities.
Supports program dismissal by supervising students walking home, waiting for pickup, and riding on agency vehicles.
Stepping in as a substitute Academic Mentor in the event of staff absences to supervise assigned students and facilitate after school programming.
Documenting program activity, data entry, and completing reports as required.
Supports Academic Mentors with school day support: co-facilitating small group literacy interventions and supporting the classroom environment as directed.
During IgniteU / SYEP summer programming will act as a Counselor co-leading the assigned group daily through their scheduled activities.
During the summer will support SYEP in this role in a PT capacity; the role has the option to transition to full-time based on availability.
work hours are generally M-F 10am-6pm during the academic year and M-F 8am-4pm in the summers.
Job Requirements
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
Experience facilitating group work with school age youth and working with diverse populations.
Current certification in First Aid, CPR, Communicable Diseases, Recognizing Child Abuse, or ability to complete these trainings within 90 days.
Requires the ability to work independently and remotely.
Requires intermediate computer skills and experience using office equipment.
The ability to work non-traditional hours. Some evenings and weekends may occasionally be required.
The ability to speak other languages is a plus.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
