What started as a single food cart is now a bustling catering company and café, grown from the hearts and hard work of the women who sustain us.

 Freedom a la Cart’s Engagement team works to create and cultivate relationships within the community; educate individuals on our organizational mission; and motivate individuals to become advocates and allies of Freedom a la Cart and survivors within our community.  

Position: Engagement Assistant — 10-15 hrs/week 

The Engagement Assistant at Freedom a la Cart will help in multiple capacities in sharing Freedom’s mission, vision, and impact primarily through supporting the team with day-to-day administrative duties. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently act as an engaging advocate for Freedom a la Cart + our mission of empowering survivors throughout Columbus

• Support the Engagement Manager in donor relations including: implementing Freedom a la Cart’s Thank You card initiative, sending out tax-deductible receipts, and completing administrative tasks relating to donations (entering checks/etc.)

• Support the Engagement Manager in volunteer relations including: sending out timely background check confirmation notices, engaging with new volunteers through introductory emails, and creating SignUp Genius slots as needed

• Assist with education for volunteers, donors, and community members

• Assisting with the management of the volunteer email inbox where applicable

• Attend and assist with the execution of company volunteer, fundraising, and community events, including (but not limited to): EmpowHER, Eat Up Columbus, Friday Night Polo, Open Mic Nights, Volunteer Appreciation

• Assist the Engagement Manager with the coordination of volunteers and administrative duties associated with our CauseCookies campaign

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and desire to come alongside Freedom + its mission of empowering survivors within Columbus

• Demonstration of strong written communication skills via email; and professional phone etiquette

• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

• Demonstrate Freedom’s Core Values of Respect and Dignity, Community, Growth, Beauty, and Hope through interactions with others

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

• Proficient in Google Docs, Google Sheets

• Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new technology 

• Desire to learn and develop within the area of development + engagement

• Associates Degree or relevant experience
