Job Description:

The Director of Impact and Partnerships will work closely with the President of the Siemer Institute to help lead, plan and direct processes that that enhance and strengthen our ability to realize our mission of creating stable family and for children to thrive academically.

SUMMARY: The Director of Impact and Partnerships will strengthen and expand the capacity of the Siemer Institute (SI), individual partner communities and its programmatic network by planning, managing and implementing strategies that advance our mission of helping children and families succeed.

This position will oversee partner engagement and performance, identify new partnership opportunities, and advise on potential philanthropic partnerships. This position will also lead the grant process from the Siemer Institute to the funded programs.

This is a dynamic position with evolving needs and highly visible responsibilities. The Siemer Institute is growing, and this is a new role that will evolve and help shape the future growth and our impact in communities across the country.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Program Accountability

Develop and implement the content and process for monitoring grant performance and program compliance to ensure compliance with SI accountability standards. Organize and co-lead periodic (with President) community partner monitoring calls to ensure compliance with SI accountability standards, identify and discuss exemplar results, performance concerns, and to better understand barriers and opportunities confronted by the programs and the families they serve.

Provide coaching, including negotiating performance milestones, outcomes and impacts as indicated the performance action plan.

Synthesize results from monitoring efforts and outcomes and develop network learning opportunities.

Network Engagement and Growth

Liaison for network partners and service providers and the Siemer Institute. Responds to questions and requests with professionalism, empathy, compassion and integrity.

Plan, develop and execute an annual capacity building agenda based on information learned from the network, field experts, emerging policies and trends, that directly relates to the SIFS program.

Lead quarterly Communities of Practice network meetings to encourage sharing of best practices as well as address real-time issues and opportunities.

Assists local site managers and partner staff in building supportive local relationships to ensure integration with local community efforts addressing homelessness. Assists in the development of long-term sustainability plans for each site. Also works to identify and recruit regional and national partners in support of this initiative.

Lead in the development and implementation of the annual Siemer Institute Summit agenda and key topics for the event.

Identify additional programmatic partnerships that will increase our impact to families and children.

Identify and assist in cultivating relationships with Foundations who have aligned missions to create partnerships that deepen our collective impact and advance the mission.

Funding Management

In partnership with the President, assess risk, impact and implications of current and expansion grant making decisions within the network.

Oversee the distribution of grants to partners. Works to improve the grant management process to improve efficiencies. Also ensures fund distribution accuracy and timeliness.

In partnership with SI team, assure the accuracy of the information / database for all current and former grants.

Manage and direct the annual program funding request from the Siemer Institute.

Communications

Encourages and provides opportunities for network engagement.

Develop and conduct periodic webinars, virtual conferences for network to enhance skills, knowledge and program development.

In partnership with SI team, develop communications pieces related to program outcomes, announcements, reports and so forth.

Lead outreach and manage communications through traditional, social media, and other channels to build recognition for the organization.

Advise and lead content development for intra-networked sites.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in in related fields is required. Masters degree preferred. Experience: Proven success with program-related role, preferably in a networked environment. Program operations /management, relationship development and engagement is required. Previous experience working for a funding agency is strongly preferred. Grants management experience and financial acumen is essential. Experience working in multiple sectors (profit/non-profit) is also preferred. Competency in developing and implementing operational strategy is required. As is proven experience with effective communication plan development and implementation using multiple platforms. Programmatic performance management is required. Knowledge of group dynamics and change management is highly beneficial.

Strong interpersonal skills as they relate to cultivation, coaching, mentoring, learning and change management. Ability to model and inspire teamwork. Highly self-motivated and self- managed; ability to work independently and as a part of a team with minimal coaching or supervision. Strong consulting skills and experience with influencing leadership and managing change. Collaborative work style with ability to solicit input, influence and support decision-making. Creates a climate that can motivate program members; empowers others; invites input from team members and shares ownership and visibility. Committed to organizational mission of family stability. Must have strong communication and presentation skills.

Position is based in Columbus Ohio and will require local and occasional out-oftown travel. Position is currently home-based due to the on-going pandemic.
