Assistant Development Manager Job Overview:
The Assistant Development Manager is a key member of the Development team reporting directly to the Director of Development. The Assistant Development Manager will be responsible for administrative responsibilities to support the Development team, preparing impact reports, drafting proposals, engaging with potential donors, managing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, managing communications and social media platforms, preparing and managing mailing lists, assisting with event planning, and assisting with volunteer programs.

Donor Relations & Community Engagement
- Support the successful implementation of key stewardship initiatives
- Support the creation of partnership impact reports for foundation and corporate funders, individual major donors, board members, and other partners
- Create and manage social media strategy
- Create a monthly e-newsletter for donors
- Organize and execute annual drives for families, including Thanksgiving meal drive, winter comfort bags, and Mother’s Day jewelry shopping event
- Support the coordination of corporate volunteer days of service and other service opportunities
- Represent the organization at appropriate community events and meetings
- Implement the organization’s fundraising plans in accordance with ethical fundraising principles
Special Events
- Support the planning and execution of special fundraising events as specified in the fund development plan to generate funds for the organization including but not limited to Experience Arnold
- Support the procurement of auction items, in-kind donations, and other meaningful contributions through activities as assigned by the Director of Development
Development Operations & Administration
- Serve as a primary user of our CRM database, Salesforce, contributing to the overall impact of data by ensuring that all donor information is accurate and up to date
- Assume responsibility for daily gift entry into Salesforce, collaborating with the Director of Development to provide gift forms and required backup to support the annual audit
- Manage internal processes for tracking donors, prospects, sponsors and funding, including maintaining accurate records of relationships, deadlines and funding requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable reporting guidelines
- Track grant-related information using Microsoft Excel and Salesforce on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to ensure all deliverables are met
- Create and produce tax acknowledgement/thank you letters for all donations received by ASAS
- Support the preparations of large, targeted mailings including the year-end/annual appeal, special event invitations, holiday cards, and program marketing campaigns
- Provides timely response to requests for information, service, and assistance
- Prepare documentation for all Board meetings
- Manage Development team calendar
- Supervise office interns
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Development

Travel Required
Travel is primarily local during the business day. There may be some travel to other ASAS Ohio offices in the state on a quarterly basis.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee
encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
This job operates in a child care environment but is based in an office. The position will interact with children in classrooms, regularly. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such
as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, along with moving sports and recreational equipment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree
- Experience working with underserved populations, preferably underserved youth within public school systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: the ability to effectively liaise with and motivate a variety of people in a multicultural entrepreneurial environment
- Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
- Have the ability to establish priorities, identify resources and manage multiple tasks within a deadline oriented environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including the ability to create professional documents and materials

Preferred Experience:
- A minimum of three years in the field of nonprofit fund development with demonstrated success in cultivating individual donors, corporate sponsorship, and foundation grants
- Experience managing a CRM system, including Salesforce
