And after the campaign, YOU STILL HAVE A FEW MORE STEPS

Collect Final Pledges

There are always a few co-workers who want to make a gift to United Way and they just keep forgetting, or they get bogged down by the workload, etc. Also, sometimes, despite our best-laid plans, some co-workers have not been asked to give for one reason or another. As your campaign end date approaches, make a special effort to collect outstanding pledges:

Make sure everyone was asked to give. Identify anyone who has not yet been asked and approach them for a gift. Collect any outstanding pledge forms for those who were asked, have indicated they intend to give, and have not yet done so

Wrap Up Special Fund Raisers

Since your special event proceeds boost your employee campaign total, it may be tempting to keep them running beyond your campaign end date.

As your campaign comes to an end, encourage a final rally and tally up the proceeds you will report to United Way. If the event is popular and continues beyond the end date, you can always send the additional proceeds later.

ANNOUNCE RESULTS AND THANK

  • Finalize your campaign, celebrate your accomplishments and thank employees for their participation and contributions.
  • Showing appreciation increases the likeliness that donors will participate next year.
  • Post some pictures you took throughout the campaign
  • Ask first time Leadership Giving employees to submit their own 'How I LIVE UNITED' story explaining why giving was so important this year and post it HERE and on your company communications

COMMUNICATE YEAR ROUND

  • Collaborate with United Way to provide year-round educational programs to implement throughout your workplace (newsletters, intranet, etc.)
