Programs and Services:
For more than 27 years, Habitat MidOhio has marshaled the generosity of donors, the selfless energy of thousands of volunteers and the determination of the community to build quality, affordable homes in central Ohio and bring the dream of homeownership to low-income families. Habitat homebuyers have the chance to work their way out of deplorable and dangerous housing conditions and into a safe, decent home of their very own. Since 2010 we have been rehabilitating vacant and abandoned properties in distressed neighborhoods throughout Franklin and Licking counties. In 2013 we expanded our portfolio of services with the launch of our Beyond the Build programs. Beyond the Build is designed to enrich the lives of homeowners and empower neighborhoods and communities through critical home repair services, home preservation and resident engagement. Habitat MidOhio seeks to lead the way in holistic family and community development by providing stable housing that has been proven to promote learning and healthy living for the entire family. Habitat works in partnership with families in need of safe, decent and affordable housing. A Habitat partner family invests several hundred hours of sweat equity, working alongside community volunteers to build or repair their home and participating in a variety of education courses designed to reate a positive pathway to successful homeownership. Every family also repays an affordable zero-interest mortgage or repair loan. Habitat MidOhio partners with businesses, agencies, faith groups and individuals who provide financial and volunteer support to fulfill our mission.
